Epoch was honored to receive officials from the Indian Ministry of Commerce on Sept 21, 2017. The delegation was in Dalian to discuss the establishment of two smart sister cities between Dalian and a yet to be determined city in India. The Indian company Wipro and our own Epoch will be participating in the smart city project.
The visitors included the Joint Secretary of the Indian Ministry of Commerce – Shri. Sudhanshu Pande, the Under Secretary Government of India – Mr. Sanjeev Kumar Gupta, the Second Secretary of Embassy of India in Beijing – Mr. Karthik Gurunathan Iyer, Senior Director of Nasscom – Mr. Gagan Sabharwal, the head of Wipro in the Greater China region – Mr. Shubhankar Mukherjee, and Ms. Grace Gu from Wipro.
Epoch’s General Manager – Foad Ghalili and our Directors – Mrs. Ladon Ghalili, Nathan Ashman, and Adam Alatif, welcomed the guests.
After guests were introduced to Epoch, its business culture, and operating values, they were given a tour of our facility.
Afterwards, the Epoch team went over the company’s smart factory plans which were used as a jumping point to discuss smart city collaboration points between Epoch and Wipro. Smart schools, buses, and parking areas were discussed in-depth as possible areas of the smart city project impact. The discussions were followed by a delicious lunch where the sharing of ideas continued.
The Epoch team was delighted with the visit and the potential collaborations ahead on smart city initiatives. We are happy to be involved in projects that aim to increase our city’s livability. We are looking forward to joining hands with Wipro to help make our communities function better.
