Epoch Technologies was one of only a dozen companies selected to present at the IoT Focus Group held on December 20 in Dalian, China. The meeting was sponsored by Dalian’s city government and India’s National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM) and is one of a series of activities fostering cooperation between software companies in India and hardware companies in China.
NASSCOM represents 2300 Indian software companies accounting for over 90% of India IT revenues. It sees great opportunities for fostering partnerships in China, as so far only 17 of those companies have operations in the country. Dalian was selected as their partner city since a fifth of those companies’ employees are located in Dalian, the largest share of any city in China.
Epoch presented a case study of bluetooth-enabled IoT hardware it designed and manufactured for a US customer in the fitness wearables market and was one of four companies on the afternoon panel discussion.
Epoch agrees with NASSCOM that the global shift towards intelligent manufacturing, represented by initiatives such as Industry 4.0 and Made in China 2025, represent a major opportunity for SMEs and for China-India partnerships. Epoch’s decades of experience in the design and manufacturing of electronic hardware for clients, as well as in its own factory automation initiatives, position it well for continued growth in this sector.
