In a 2014 Women’s Day event organized by a local Jinzhou TV station, Epoch’s own Ms. Ladon Ghalili received an award in recognition of her active participation and leadership in the community. Ms. Ghalili has been at the helm of many of Epoch’s communitywide volunteer activities
In the same event, the TV station also interviewed some of our employees on their thoughts about volunteering. This gave Epoch an opportunity to spread the word on why having a culture of volunteerism is not just beneficial to the recipients in the community but it is also important for the individuals participating in the giving.
“When I see joy on the face of the person I am helping, I feel boundless happiness, ” explained Shawna Jia, when the TV host asked why she enjoys volunteering.
After the interview, some of Epoch employees celebrated the day with a stage dance performance.
